Kirk D. Johnston Named as Partner in Atlanta Office and Y. Lisa Colon Heron Named As Partner in Fort Lauderdale Office
Kirk D. Johnston has been named a Partner in the
Atlanta office of Smith, Currie & Hancock LLP. Kirk is a member of
the firm’s Construction Litigation, Government Contracts and Risk
Management practice groups. He has extensive experience in construction
claims avoidance through assisting clients in every phase of the
construction process, from the negotiation and drafting of construction
contracts, advising on proper risk management, to educating clients
through day-to-day review of contracts, issues, and project documents.
His background in risk management and insurance further aids owners,
contractors, and carriers in catastrophic loss management, litigation
and construction-related claims arising out of complex construction
defect litigation.
Y. Lisa Colon Heron has been
named a Partner in the Fort Lauderdale office of Smith, Currie &
Hancock LLP. Lisa is Board Certified in Construction Law by the Florida
Bar. Lisa joined Smith Currie in November 2008. She has experience in a
wide range of construction law issues. Lisa’s practice primarily
involves dispute resolution of construction and real estate claims. Lisa
is also experienced in handling many aspects of government contracting
claims from compliance, small business issues, bid protests and claims
litigation.
