Goran MusinovicAssociate

GORAN MUSINOVIC is an associate in the Atlanta office of Smith, Currie & Hancock LLP.  He has worked on multi-million dollar cases representing owners, developers, general contractors, subcontractors, sureties, and suppliers on various private and public projects, including mixed use sky-scrapers, schools, power plants, commercial buildings, and dynamic message signs on interstate highways. Goran has experience with disputes involving breach of contract claims, delays, constructive changes, CGL insurance policies, negligence claims, bid protests, limitation of liability provisions, defective design claims, differing site conditions, defective workmanship claims, environmental spills, and wrongful death claims.  Recognizing that most construction disputes arise because of money, Goran uses his Accounting background to specialize in all financial aspects of construction disputes, including damages, limitations of liability provisions, and recognition of legal claims on companies’ financial statements.  Goran is also actively involved in the Construction Financial Management Association.

Goran attended law school at The University of Tennessee College of Law and received his Juris Doctorate in 2009.  While in law school, Goran served as the Treasurer of the Moot Court Board and was a member of The University of Tennessee College of Law National Moot Court Trial Team.  While in law school, Goran excelled in trial advocacy and won the prestigious Ray H. Jenkins Trial Competition in 2008.  In addition, Goran participated in The University of Tennessee College of Law Advocacy Clinic, where he represented indigent clients.  Goran also clerked for the Honorable Mary B. Leibowitz in Tennessee Criminal Court.  Goran received the Constangy, Brooks & Smith Diversity Award for the State of Tennessee, earned certificates of excellence in Trial Practice, Pretrial Litigation, and Negotiation and Dispute Resolution, and was inducted into The Order of Barristers.

Prior to law school, Goran attended The University of Tennessee, where he received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration summa cum laude, majoring in Accounting, with collateral in International Business, and minor in German.  While at the University of Tennessee, Goran studied abroad in Germany and China.  In addition, Goran participated in the University of Tennessee Study Abroad Buddy Program, Executive Undergraduate Program, Golden Key Honor Society, and intramural soccer.

Goran is happily married and enjoys spending time with his wife, family, and friends.
